Casino Camping, then on to a quiet spot in Dorchester, WI…

With it time to leave Green Bay we packed up and drove to the next stop about 42 miles across the rolling farmland to the Menominee Casino where we spent one night. The Menominee Casino has RV sites with 30/50 amp hookups but no water or sewer so we filled with water before we left Green Bay. The main reason we came is that registered guests have unlimited access to amenities such as their fabulous 121,000 gallon swimming pool, their 800 gallon spa and their Steam and Fitness rooms.

Therefore while we may be staying at a casino we are treating this as a spa staycation. We checked into the casino and for the $20 per night fee for camping where we each received $5/person free play in the casino. We also received $5/person free play in the casino for being new members. As a result of all this free play (with the help of me hitting a triple four of a kind on video poker) we won enough to pay for campsite and the $5/person dinner buffet for seniors!!!  However, the best part of this stay was use of the steam room followed up by indulging in a long sit in the hot tub and then a 30 minute swim in the pool!  It was the bomb! Add in the fact that they have a very nice fitness room so we both had a great workout as well.

We were tempted to stay longer but the next morning we decided to move a short 18 mile drive over to the North Star Mohican Casino RV Park to stay at their nicer RV park. We needed a  full service park as we had nearly full waste tanks. So we pulled in and registered at the hotel desk for a site. Here too we received $5/person free play in the casino for being new members as well as $10 free play for staying in the RV park.

This casino park has 57 sites located located in a nice stand of woods in the casino's backyard. All 57 sites have 50/30 amp service, water and sewer hookups as well as free WIFI, fire rings and a picnic table. It is a really nice park. After hooking up we went over to the casino to see if we could turn the free play into a free stay.

As luck would have it we were able to especially after I was dealt a four-of-a-kind hand on a three-play video poker machine!!! We not only made enough to pay for our site for the night but we made enough to have a few drinks at their great happy hour featuring a craft beer of the month!  As if it couldn't be better, there was a great Happy Hour band playing oldies at the main bar! With another successful casino stay under our belts our next stop will be a little further down the road at Dorchester Park in Dorchester Wisconsin…

  1. We always enjoy the casino stays and more often than not come out ahead, the pool , spa and fitness centre is a nice bonus too.

  2. I think all casinos should have RV parks. They have plenty of land for them.

  3. We've never Casino camped but with your double success I think you've put it on our map. Hope we have the same skill/luck. The spa sounds great. Were they both $20 a night?
