We made the short drive over to Moab, Utah and pulled into Spanish Trails RV Park around lunchtime (nice that they take Passport America in June). Bad luck strikes us though and our CRV battery has died and the car won’t start. A fellow RV’er nearby offers us a jumpstart and the first order of business in Moab turns out to be buying a new battery instead of hiking right away. We found a great locally owned shop (Clarks Parts Plus) where I was able to buy an already charged battery. The fellow behind the counter said they sell a lot of batteries in town so they keep them charged.
Great so with a new battery in the CRV we head over to Arches National Park where we purchase a new annual pass for $80 and drive into the park. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!!! We spent the rest of the day taking in short hikes of less than 1.5 miles and looking at all the beautiful red rock scenery on display. I will say no more and leave only photographs of our most exquisite afternoon…
To be continued…
Keep that rock up there, Sharon. Southern Utah Parks are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing place, isn't it!! Our very first visit was on a motorcycle trip. Imagine our expression as we drove up the park road with nothing to obscure our view. What a site!! Glad you are loving it!! We were there for a month last year and it wasn't long enough.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pictures. What a gorgeous place. Hope you like your campground, we're still planning our trip there. We've tried for 4 years but aren't giving up. What's the temperature like now in late June?
ReplyDeletetoday's high was 80 Saturday it will be upper 90's
DeleteGorgeous pictures. I am really envious. We've been trying to get there for 4 years and one thing after another has kept us away. But we're not giving up. Hope you like the campground and will let us know what the temperatures are there in late June. Enjoy enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI ran across your blog at Our Awesome Travels and thought I'd drop by and visit a while. We were in Moab last fall and loved the area.
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow.
ReplyDeleteAlso interested in knowing the temperatures.
Part of the reason we zoomed through Colorado was the ten day forcast was for cooler than usual temperatures. 80's and 90's. It has been awesome.
DeleteJune in Utah! must be hot! but who cares you got a great scenery all around you. Perfect capture of Sharon holding the rock.
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing pictures of that area.
ReplyDeleteKeep enjoying you hikes there.
If the temps are in the 80s, 90s, you picked the right time to be there. It is an amazing place. BTW, the Moab Brewery on the south end of town is kinda fun.
ReplyDeleteNever made it to Arches. Your photos make me want to go. Did someone say brewery? haha!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to visit the Moab Visitors Center. They have great pamphlets on off-road trails that are great.
ReplyDeleteWe can hardly wait to see this place and your pictures are amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of our most favorite places, been there a couple of times in the shoulder seasons, so much to do there.
