I really don’t know what to say other than the scenery here is just unreal… it simply blows my mind. We spent our first day at Arches National Park and saw many a wonder and our second day was more of the same… fabulous. We drove about thirty miles down state highway 128 just north of Moab and it is one of the most scenic byways we have ever driven on. The road follows along the Colorado River and offers one breathtaking vista after another. Taking in a few short hikes to immerse in our surroundings made it all the better… the most stunning hike was around the Fisher Towers. Once again I won’t waste any words and will instead post more photographs…
We had to move over to another park as Spanish Trails RV Park could only accommodate us for three nights. We are now about a mile further out of town at OK RV Park, another Passport America Park that honors PA rates in June. Some have asked about the weather here and the main reason we headed this way was an unseasonable cool weather pattern had settled in place. Our first four days are in the low 80’s with yesterday’s high only reaching 77. The warm up begins with days heading back to more normal mid 90’s for highs. The 100’s are just around the corner according to the locals… but our week here will be up by Monday…
to be continued….
Beautiful photos! Made me kinda miss the southwest. Safe journey to your next adventure.....
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorite places to explore. There's always something even more amazing around the corner. Be sure and take in Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse Point SP. You lucked out with those temps this time of year, which is why we opt to visit in spring and fall.
ReplyDeleteYou are having too much fun and taking awesome photos, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful as always. Sure enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery for sure!
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't taken it Valley of the Gods road south of Moab is a great don't miss ride. Nice the weather is working in your favor.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to Fisher Tower. Did you see the rock climbers? They climb that strange rock Ancient Arch. You have a photo of it. Did you ever see the Citibank commercial that was filmed there? It was very cool. A scary climb for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at OK RV Park when we first arrived. We only lasted a few days...way too dusty. We moved down the road to Portal RV Resort for the rest of the month.
It really is fantastic scenery.
ReplyDeleteYou have to see this scenery to believe it.
