Another fairly long drive from Athens, Georgia to Dillon, South Carolina but we drove a bit further than we planned to so we would have a real short drive the next time. We are at a nice little RV park off of highway 90 a few miles from the North Carolina border.
The name of the place is Bass Lake RV park. Nothing special about it but it is perfect for us for the next day or two that we will be here. A small fishing lake is nearby which has a trail around it that was an enjoyable walk for the two of us after our long drive. Good wifi but no cable and a bit of road noise but overall it is fine for our needs.
Yesterday we went to a nice little pub that was known for its wings and as a result it will become the first place we reviewed on a sister blog called Road Treats. Road Treats will be a blog dedicated to all the neat little places we find while traveling on the road. Visit it and you can read about the first of the neat little places we found in Athens, Georgia.
You're sure getting some miles logged. You'll be giving driving lessons before you know it :))
ReplyDeleteI love your Road Treats idea. I can't use it right now, but by the time I'm traveling you'll have a nice variety that I can search through to see if there is anything recommended close by. It's good you're starting it at the very beginning. Great memory makers.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are on the road to great adventures, enjoy the sights, sounds and scenery, so much to see, do and learn. Don't forget that you are retired, stop and smell the roses, we love staying for a couple of weeks in small communities and exploring a bit. Good luck guys.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read you are enjoying your freedom. Lots of miles and lots of smiles.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at Bass Lake this fall for about a month, loved it and hope to return sometime. Met some great neighbors there and enjoyed walking around the lake with Maggie and her doggie buddies. Give our regards to Guy and Julie! Have you checked out South of the Border just up the road? It is a trip back into the 50s. Enjoy!
